The Cone of Silence

I know I am dating myself here, perhaps some of you remember a program called “Get Smart” with agent 86 and 99? One of the rather humorous antics was a thing called the “cone of the silence” where the chief and Max would be meeting and Max would insist on using the cone of silence. Well, this clear dome would descend from the area above them and then as they began to try to talk, nobody could hear what the other person was saying.

After my last post on Monday, I think maybe the readership has instituted the cone of silence without my knowledge. I am not sure if this is due to the topic of my posts as of late, or just a coincidental occurrence, but suffice it to say views and comments around here have been about as frequent as a snowflake in July at the equator.

Hope remains and my attempts with it, Happy Wednesday folks!

You wouldn’t have been dating yourself if you hadn’t pointed it out. They came out with that movie a few years ago, remember? 😉

Yes, I know what you mean about getting few people to read a site. I mean to actually take the time to read, and not to just click the like button in hopes that the “liked” person will come to the likers site and read his stuff. Well, you do have the consolation of having 53 “followers”.

I’ve seen people on Facebook with 3,480 “Friends”.

Bitter? Sounds a little bitter, right? Well, dagnab it, we should be bitter.

By the way, I have four friends on Facebook, none of whom stay in touch — but I like them anyway.

So, that’s not so bitter, right?

    Ahhh . . .

    😉

Wow 3,480 friends… Christmas cards must be brutal! I have been doing some thinking and I am wondering if perhaps this being a school vacation week if that has impacted the usual readership stats? Thanks for taking time to stop by and read and comment, and yes it helps to ease the bitter 🙂

  3. Love the Cone of Silence (some of my co-workers could benefit from it – a little bit of hen house some days – ha). Do not take it too personal because sometimes I just enjoy reading your posts, but really do not have any comment. Thanks and Have a Great Weekend!
