Monday Rant

Monday Morning for many of us means a return to the vocational world. Some of us are fortunate enough to be in the group that

springs out of bed…. (as an aside here, how many of us really spring out of bed, let alone on a Monday morning?) looking forward to getting into the work week.

It seems to me the scales are tipped to an unfavorable position. We work all week-long with an insane focus on the weekend, thinking if I can just make it to the Friday 5 o’clock bell, or whatever your end of the week is, you will have 2 glorious days of freedom, fun  and relaxation! Poppycock!

First I will venture to say most of us work some or most of the weekend trying to whittle enough resources to make it through to the next paycheck. In the event that we actually have a weekend it is spent trying to catch-up on all the mundane chores that we simply didn’t get to during the week, ie laundry, dishes, groceries etc.

I think it’s time for a game changer… I say let’s make Monday the new Friday, (after all we seem to be really good at applying new meanings to existing words) yes I know I will still need to go through the work week, but I have also heard that attitude is everything, so don’t go trying to spoil my fantasy by telling me I can’t sleep in tomorrow.

     Have a great Week!

  1. JT –

I recently did a blog post on this called TGIM (Thank Goodness It’s Monday). I am sure most of us work 7 days a week – work, social obligations, family obligations, household obligations, etc. I find it hard at times to find downtime, but your body needs a rest otherwise we get run down or sick and become of no use to anyone! I did not clean this weekend (it is my filth) and just enjoyed the weekend with family and friends. I try to think of every day as a new day and try to stay on the positive or sunny side. Have a Great Week:)

      Hey there Renee,
The truth is time management is an area I am working on, this as well as learning to say no sometimes would probably take me a long way 🙂

There is such a think as sleeping in and time off????? Darn, I missed that memo.
